Meet Ms. Mickle
Here's a little about me...
Hi! My name is Sarah Frances Mickle and I am both excited and honored to be a member of Galindo's Third Grade team!
I was born in Alabama and moved to the DFW area when I was 11 years old. I then moved to Austin to attend college at the University of Texas at Austin. After graduating in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Applied Learning and Development, I just couldn't leave this great city. I have been teaching fifth grade at Galindo for the past two years and I am ready to make the transition to third!
I decided I wanted to be a teacher when I was just a little girl. My mother, who is also a teacher, helped to keep my dream alive. She is one of the many people who have shaped and molded me into the educator I am today.
I believe in a classroom community where students feel safe, valued, and respected. Together, my students and I will take risks, try new things, and grow together as a community of a learners. Through social and emotional learning, my students will continue to deepen their foundation of empathy, respect, and kindness.
I am ready to have a wonderful year and cannot wait to start this adventure! Go Grizzlies!
